Being jobless...
Hentai
I hope this counts as chit chat. So i lost my job yesterday, the company is closing down and me and few other workers were the first to go, as we were the casuals.

I mean I only worked 15 hours a week, because I'm studying full time... but i can say now I have never been so low in a while. I love money.
Just the effort of job-hunting makes me feel physically ill, and the idea I can't buy books or fresh coffee everyday makes me want to vomit.

I now have the choice to just continue studying full time and live very poorly (and lazily haha)...

or get my arse into gear and find a new job as quickly as i can. Which will make living more comfortably i guess.

Any advice?

To you have the option to study online? I'm doing my bachelors in Psychology and Bachelors of Criminal Justice from home, they just email me the course work.

Hey Bryza! Do you enjoy studying online? I tried it once through high school when I literally lived in the middle of nowhere...I didn't enjoy it so much...but now I literally live 10 minutes away from my university so going there etc is not a problem. I'm doing a Bachelor of Social work! Although what you are currently studying is what I dream about doing...
I decided to do Social Work, I intend on doing my prac in the last 2 years working with inmates when they get on parole, which i really look forward to, but if I get better grades and am interested in doing more studies, after I finish this bachelor (which won't be for another 3 and a half years), i want to do a bachelor in psychology majoring in criminal justice! I think it's the exact course your doing!

Ahhh!!!! I am so jealous of what you are studying. Do you love it? We do alot of psychology in social work, but sadly not enough!

I love studying from home, cos I'm a single mum I can't afford for my daughter to go to day care everyday, so online study is best suited for me. Because it's online it's fast tracked too, so rather than studying for four years, I can be finished in two, but I have five years to complete the course. The uni I'm based at is about an 18 hour drive away in Brisbane, so when I have to do exams, I go the uni here, and they organise for a room to be set up for me and stuff. Wouldn't study any other way haha.

Oh wow! You must have your hands full though! That's great you can do it online then. Do you think you'll finish it in two years? That'd be fantastic! I noticed your in Australia hehe, I'm all the way on the other side...! I go to classes 3 days a week, theres one full day which is boringly full on, and then theres 2 days where it's just half a day. I spend 80% of the time anyway on the computer at home doing assignments...one big plus about doing it online you don't have to deal with classmates, especially the douche bag ones. Theres alot in Social Work. Allloooot.

I've had to defer at the moment cos my daughter has been sick and I'm in the process of moving but I'm about half way through and been doing it for about a year and a half. So, hopefully once everything is settled down I can get back into the swing of things...

Try living in Vegas like me. There are absolutely no goddamn jobs and the economy is crap. I'll be stuck here at home for a while, jobless broke and pissed off.

I can't think of anything more depressing and demeaning than having no job. The times I was out of work about a year ago, were miserable, rage-filled days. You guys have my sympathy. Don't give up hope.

Oh wow Las Vegas?! Sorry i have to say i'm pretty jealous. I'm in the extremely country side of Western Australia, and now it's near Winter, all the farming jobs go quiet...!
I worked on a farm, lol, basically the money was pretty good and they worked around my studies. Apparently i can go back in Summer but that's not for another 7 months!?
But yeah it's pretty hard around here unless you live near the city...!
Sorry to hear though, being jobless is quite crap!!!!

Hehe thanks Hurdy Gurdy! In a sense I'm not too bad, because i spend alot of time at University studying full-time. It'd be worse if i was broke and not doing absolutely anything.
I won't give up too much hope, I'll enjoy the time off before i start looking... Sad siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.

Don't make the same mistake I did. I've been unemployed for years now. My mistake was that I had a lot of money saved up, and figured on enjoying myself for as long as I could, no responsibilities and just doing whatever whenever.

That's all fine and good until the money runs out. I actually thought I could pick the time and place to get back to work. So I waited. And waited. Now I'm down to my last $100 and have found myself in an outright panic situation. My Jeep Liberty is parked up the street right this minute with a FOR SALE sign on it. I'm looking for anything at this point.

So don't do what I did. I you come across something, take it.

Hey Hentai i'm looking for someone to help me dig up a plot for the dead, to bury them in there coffins. you know a gravedigger. it doesn't pay much but you get good life insurance coverage and if you bury 1200 people your own burial service is FREE! and we even put a nice suit for you to put on when your resting. tell me does that sound like one hellva plan! lol

I've had a couple of foreign stories (China and Russia) that I wanted to post there recently.

No. But I don't think that thread exists anymore. It should be under "crime in the news". It was a thread naggy originally started I think, or at least contributed to a lot.

ah yes, so we do, and just in case you're referring to my post, sorry, i forgot about it. would move it but can't move comments so unless you wanna do that it'll just have to stay put

Didn't we used to have a random weird crime news thread? For stories there were interesting enough to share but didn't really need their own threads?
